Trip to Kenya!

Hi All. Welcome back - well definately for us. We have just returned from amazing trip to Kenya. We have spent fantastic week in very friendly atmosphere of this wonderful country. Beautiful weather, smiley people and African wildlife. This was one in a lifetime experience...
It is worth mentioning, that Kenya has still very alive furniture making trade - most of furniture there is hand-made in small independent shops and original pieces are being sold on the streets... As you drive along outskirts of Mombasa (second biggest city in Kenya), you can spot most original designs of furniture - beautiful beds with amazingly carved headboards, dressing chests with plenty of small little cupboards, bent wicker chairs and many, many more... Due to massive competition, it is very important for all traders to make good quality and strong pieces, as very often they are being contracted by private buyers, but also big hotels...
Another amazing thing we have spotted are craved wooden lamps - they are all different and unique...

Thought we would share couple of photos with you, giving you a little taste of Kenya... and if you get a chance, we highly recommend this amazing country!
