Upholstery Course: 20th October 2009 Read More Here.

Fancy trying something new?,
Upholstery Course in Newcastle Upon Tyne Only £88.
Refunk Your Junk & Recycle Your Furniture have been pushing Newcastle City Learning to put on another Upholstery course. and guess what they are considering it: All we need now are the bums on seats.. If we have enough people attending then the course will go ahead:

Why not start a part time Upholstery course and refunk all of those tired old chairs in your house.

Gosforth High school are looking at running a 1 evening a week course every Tuesday from the 20th October 2009 through until 15th December 2009.

Sadly there seems to be no goverment funding for the course available so the course has to run on full price without any discounts. BUT still for the full course it is only a reasonable £88.

If your interested and possibly want to join some of the Refunk Your Junk designers on the course, then get in touch with Newcastle City Learning: 0191 255 9101 to either book yourself a place or find out more info.

Hope to see some of you there.

www.recycleyourfurniture.co.uk

After a crazy weekend, i think we are all back on the ball..

Signage is currently in city signs printers for a bargain price.. and to think we were going to hand paint it too!!!.....

A few new additions this weekend, one from a nice chap from Spennymore who has given us a china cabinet that needs transformed, and one of us has saved 2 small 60's coffee tables from the rubbish.... which have already been snapped up by one of our quick handed designers.

Its amazing what some people throw out..

New fabrics arrived this morning that we are really happy with, also we have another new member joining "John from Gateshead" who has a art and design degree and some woodworking skills finger crossed he wont be scared off on his first tour of studio chaos on Thursday..

Its only pre opening mess!! luckily he seems to understand we are a bit hectic getting everything together.

On a personal level; i am having a trauma with a chest of drawers.. that just isn't working for me... While funnily Peter has sprung a couple of cool spray jobs on some tatty old reproduction furniture that now looks good enough for any modern house..

Recyle Your Furniture & Refunk Your Junk

Exciting team based furniture recycling initiative.

We are all relatively new to Blogging, but feel this is possibly the best way to keep yourselves and our team up to date on what is going on, some of us pass like ships in the night only seeing half finished tables, and pots of paint that have been moved since our last studio visit.

We have just refreshed and updated our websites:
http://www.recycleyourfurniture.co.uk; http://www.refunkyourjunk.co.uk

Our main online shop and studio / sales floor is due to be opening up in May 2009 (Fingers crossed.

What are we all about??
We are a furniture recycling project with a personal touch; hopefully with a feel of community spirit, training and involvement adding a bit of artistic creation to your home at very reasonable price. and we do all this this by receiving furniture donations from yourselves, we collect unwanted or even slightly damaged furniture and reintroduce it back to the public, please read our website for more details. www.recycleyourfurniture.co.uk

We really hope you will check back at our blog and our website regularly as we plan to have lots artistic re funked furniture at great prices.

later on in the week i will be adding a bit more about how we have got this far, who is involved and after that we will be keeping you all informed on the project as we go along.
